That’s literally the only reason.</p><p>I think you’re right that PFA will solve some of the readability concerns you have.</p><p>Another interesting thing is the ligatures in JetBrains Mono turn |&gt; into a glyph that looks like  ▷, which is easier to read, IMO.</p><p>As with a lot of Larry’s work, this pushes PHP towards unlocking Functional Programming, and it’s optional, so the “old way” still works.</p>]]></content:encoded>
